A Weekend of Salvation

Ah, good times…

This weekend was one of firsts, despite the fact that it's been more than two years since I first came to Bangalore. It started on Friday when Jonas and Hakan (coworkers of mine) decided to have an easy night out, and I tagged along.

More Kraigie-ness due to Web 2.0

As you've probably noticed, you can hear a few crickets around this blog as of late. I've been wickedly busy and not finding enough time to write posts of the regular depth that you're used to. Alas, you need not start crying for me, as it turns out Web 2.0 seems to have a solution for everything these days…

In some universe, this would make sense...

Here I am, heading to my bedroom in the new corporate apartment for a good night of sleep. I left the lights and the TV on in the living room, so I could find the channel of the movie I was watching and watch it while I went to sleep. Once I found the channel (Z Studios) on the TV in my bedroom, I went to the living room to shut off the TV.

Another trip to Bangalore

Hi everybody, I'm still here. Just been plugging away at work and life in between blog posts, and clearly, there's enough going on that my attention has been taken away from the blogosphere. That said, a good bit of reflection is always due once in a while, too, so perhaps I'll actually start writing some posts on a more regular basis. More about what I'm up to after the jump.

Yay to Texy!

A big thank you to the makers of Texy! on creating a Textile-like module for Drupal. Once again, you should be able to see links in all of their hyper-riffic glory.

Stay on target...

Hey, just writing a quick reminder to everyone reading. I’m actually going to try to make some progress on my goals on 43things.com. Click the link above to my 43 things and give me a cheer here or there…

I'm back, and I'm angry at WebHostPlus...

So, blogging is something I must admit I've not been disciplined about in ages. To further discourage me, my website has been down for months, and my old hosting company, Vilitas hasn't done anything about it.

Weekly Round-Up: Bangalore

I've made it back to Bangalore. I'm certainly excited to be here again, not only because it's so unique, but it's good to start up on ThoughtWorks University (TWU) again.

This time around, I'm settling in much more easily than before. Just walking into the office, it's been a treat seeing all of the smiles from the people I met and even taught in the last year. They've welcomed me back warmly, and it feels great, so I don't know what else to say. In that case, it's worth getting to the round-up.

Countdown to India

Next Saturday I head off to India again for a little while. This time, it's to lead round three of our corporate training program. It's a job I really enjoy, getting to spend 6 weeks with 30 of our newest hires right at the start of their careers. We have intense days of training followed by some good nights of relaxing and talking about our experiences.

Going back to Bangalore means a return to a lot of things: people, places, and food among them. For example, since I left Bangalore in September, I've had Indian food a total of four times. Two of those times, I ordered from what used to be my favorite Indian spot, Baluchi's. Frankly, that place doesn't do anything for me anymore; the entrees are too creamy and heavy for me now. Otherwise, I've had a couple of good experiences. The first was at a spot in the West Village called Mainland India that I wrote about a few weeks ago, where the gobi was just fantastic. Otherwise, I ordered a $15 dosa and vada from Madras Mahal. Needless to say, I'm looking forward to going back and eating a dosa for 15 Rupees (34¢).
